belongingness

Is this for me?

“Belong”

Reflect back on receiving the Circuit Playground Express microcontroller and the lab experience.

Seeing the Circuit Playground Express for the first time was an exciting moment for me. It's a compact, feature-rich, beginner-friendly microcontroller design, which makes it accessible for everyone to learn programming and electronics. For me who are curious and eager to dive into technology and maker projects, the board is quite inviting and inspiring.

My sense of belonging in the associated tech space starts with learning the Circuit Playground Express . I learned and grew within a supportive community and was taught by so many talented individuals like the tech staffs and my peers. Community support, mentorship, and seeing others like myself struggling in the topic can greatly enhance the feeling of belonging.

Encountering errors when using the Arduino software is already a common part of the learning process. My initial reactions were frustration and doubt. Those errors made me feel discouraging and starteed tto ask the question of "Is This Really for Me?"

I then realized several factors may at play in considering the question: "Is this for me?". Like Interest and Passion: I have a genuine curiosity about how things work, I enjoy solving problems, and I’m always excited about creating with technology, which may be strong indicators that one might find fulfillment in this space. Moreover, I have a sense of belongingness in the associated tech space. I can access the supportive learning environments, which helped me thrive.
